The Granite State Symphony Orchestra (GSSO) was created to provide New Hampshire's finest professional musicians with the opportunity to play classical music at a cost accessible to people of all ages. The symphony is located in Concord and performs concerts at a number of venues around the state.

The Granite State Symphony Orchestra is the resident orchestra of the Concord City Auditorium.

The Granite State Symphony Orchestra is performing its Thirteenth season as the Capital Area's Symphony Orchestra. We are grateful for your support as we grow.

 

Maestro Babb has been creating musical excellence in New Hampshire as a conductor, teacher and musician for over 20 years. He is a graduate of the New England Conservatory and has studied extensively in New York City and Paris with Leon Barzin, a student and friend of the great Arturo Toscanini. While serving as Music Director for the New Hampshire Philharmonic Orchestra, Maestro Babb conducted the ensemble in the first live television broadcast of a symphony orchestra in the State of New Hampshire on WMUR TV 9. He also re-orchestrated and conducted the Nutcracker" at the New Hampshire Performing Arts Center- its first production to feature live orchestral accompaniment. Mr. Babb also conducts the Southeastern Philharmonic Orchestra.
